Cynthia Jean Wilson Peden (1954-2017)

Services for Cynthia Jean Wilson Peden, 62, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Bartley Funeral Home with Bro. Homer Morgan and Bro. Mike Humphreys officiating.

Interment will follow at Woodside Cemetery.

Mrs. Peden passed away January 29, 2017, at her home in Grand Saline. She was born April 12, 1954 in Big Sandy to Herman & Bobbie Wilson. She spent all of her life in Grand Saline where she graduated from Grand Saline High School in 1972. She was a member of Roundflat Pentecostal Church and Eastern Star. Cindy was a “candy striper” at the nursing home and a nurse’s aide for many years before she graduated from TVCC in 1991 with a nursing degree. She worked as an RN and Director of Nurses at several nursing homes over the last 25 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Wilson; son, Michael Louis Peden; and brother, David Wilson.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Mike Peden of Grand Saline; parents, Bobbie Wilson & David Schenk of Grand Saline; daughter, Drionne Tucker of Rockwall; brother, James Wilson and wife Diane of Alba; four grandchildren, Timothy Louis Peden, Caitlann Peden, Brock Tucker and Aiden Tucker; sister-in-law, Claudia Rogers and husband Randy of Grand Saline; brother-in-law, Billy Worthington of Grand Saline; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tim Wilson, Eddie Smith, Derek Koonce, Eric Reeder, Cory Smith, Mike Humphreys, Mike Land, Rickey Newman and Donnie Herring.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
