Doris Jane Dickerson (1931-2018)

Services for Doris Jane Dickerson, 86, of Grand Saline, were scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Bartley Funeral Home with Don Kirkpatrick and Eric Teague officiating.

Interment followed in Creagleville Cemetery.

Mrs. Dickerson passed away January 30, 2018 in Grand Saline. She was born November 30, 1931, in Grand Saline to Foster & Ida Branson Land. She was a lifelong resident of Grand Saline where she graduated from GSHS, Class of 1947. Over the years she worked at Cozby-Germany Hospital, Steve's Pharmacy, Nardis Sewing Factory, and the Smart Shop. Doris is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, J.B. "Sandy" Land, W.A. "Dub" Land and John Land; three sisters, Katherine Land, Ida Gene Land and Martha Jackson; and one grandson, Jerry Michael Dickerson.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Jerry Dee Dickerson of Grand Saline; son, Mark Dickerson and wife LuAnn of Grand Saline; daughter, Becky Dickerson Kindle and Tommy Erwin of Grand Saline; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Juanice Land of Grand Saline, Sandra Earnhart of Kaufman, and Freddy & Frances Dickerson of Pruitt; seven grandchildren, Sara Engelking, Clint & Rachel Dickerson, Sam & Laura Dickerson, Lance & Angela Kindle, Emmitt & Ally Kindle,Chase & Ryann Kindle and Cody & Cory Kindle; twelve great-grandchildren, Lauren Engelking, Colt Kindle, Jett Kindle, Ella Broce Dickerson, Kori Kindle, Adeline Dickerson,Thatcher Kindle, Sawyer Kindle, Carter Kindle, Ellie Kindle, Gracee Countryman and Morgan Countryman; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Clint Dickerson, Sam Dickerson, Lance Kindle, Emmitt Kindle, Don Whatley and Lee Roy Wells.

The family received friends 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
