Louise Hale “Bud” Jones (1936-2018)

February 08, 2018

Our next item up for bid is…

Louise Hale “Bud” Jones cherished her family and its enduring bond, the annual Hale Family Reunion. The live auction was her pride and joy that funded the reunion’s yearly celebration. Anyone who knew Bud, knew her passion for family. Survived by Hales, Joneses, Dickersons, Tunnells, and others too numerous to mention, kinship coursed through her veins. Closer to home, Bud was surrounded in life and death by her loving and faithful children Lana Leonard (Mark) and Scott Jones, her son-like, younger brother William Hale (LaDona), grandchildren Jacob Jones, Tiffany Jones, Anna and Grace Leonard; also, nieces Amber and Ashley Hale, nephew Adam Hale, great granddaughter Fiona, great nephew Wyatt Oliver Hale, and daughter in law Eleanor Jones.

Bud cherished her friends. None were casual. Hers were deep and lasting relationships characterized by love and joy. Whether sharing a meal, shopping until dropping, connecting by phone or social media, her long list of friends, some life long, was a spark of life.

Bud cherished her deep and abiding faith. In God, she experienced the Father of Fathers, the Son of life, and the Spirit of love. Her church was yet another opportunity to gather as family and celebrate friendship. No wonder her denomination was the Disciples of Christ. Bud expressed her belief in word and deed, always feasting on the spiritual leadership of her beloved pastor, Nita Allen.

Louise was born October 13, 1936, in Grand Saline TX, to Pearl and Oscar Hale. She passed from this life on February 2, 2018, and was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Benny Jones.

Bud’s life will be remembered fondly on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Oak Cliff Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 660 S. Zang Blvd, Dallas TX. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:30 am, followed immediately by a service of communal joy. Interment will be at 3:00 pm at Oakland Cemetery in Van Zandt County.

Bud’s reunion auctions will continue, but they will never be the same.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Oak Cliff Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 660 S. Zang Blvd, Dallas TX 75208.
