July 04, 2018

Canton -- A Van Zandt County grand jury has returned a true bill of indictment against David Beall, a Precinct 1 Reserve Deputy Constable for the offense of sexual assault. David Lynn Beall, Canton, was taken into custody Tuesday morning at the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office without incident. Beall turned himself in after being notified of the outstanding arrest warrant last week.

The indictment alleges that the offense occured in Van Zandt County on or about October 15, 2015. Assistant Criminal District Attorney Tonda Curry said, “The investigators at the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office gathered the evidence in this case, and the grand jury found that evidence sufficient to return an indictment against Mr. Beall. Now the process will move forward to the District Court where the defendant will have to answer these charges in front of a jury.”

“Sexual assault is a second degree felony in the State of Texas, punishable by two years to twenty years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.00,” Curry added.
