Wilford Skinner (1934-2020)

Graveside services for Mr. Wilford Lee Skinner, Jr., 85, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Haven of Memories, Canton, with Deacon William Flores officiating.

Mr. Skinner died September 19, 2020, in Tyler. He was born December 11, 1934, in Grand Saline, to Wilford Lee & Georgia Maurine White Skinner. He was born and raised in Grand Saline and moved to Carrollton in 1963. Wilford served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for 22 years for Braniff Airlines after receiving his Associate Degree in Business. Wilford was a member of the Teamsters Union and retired from Harris Corp. with 14 years of service as a security supervisor. Mr. Skinner was also a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Wilford moved back to Grand Saline in 1997, where he was a member of St. Celestine Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 45 years, Bonnie Haughton Skinner; sister, Wanda Williams; and daughter-in-law, Marianne Skinner.

Survivors include his two sons, Lee Skinner of Georgetown and Greg Skinner and wife Colett of Celeste; grandchildren, Torey Miles, Jake Miles, and Joey Skinner; numerous great-grandchildren; special friend, Cindy Jordan of Grand Saline; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jake Miles, Joey Skinner, Lee Skinner, and Rick Reed.
