“Abby’s Army” Gather to Show Support for Resident Battling COVID

October 30, 2020

GRAND SALINE--A group of Grand Saline residents, and a family from Quitman, toughed out the dreary weather Wednesday evening in a show of encouragement for one local resident who is still battling, and steadily overcoming the COVID-19 virus. Twenty Four members of “Abby’s Army” braved the cold and muddy conditions in a show of support for Savallo. “Abby’s Army”, a group of Abby Savallo’s friends, family and supporters, has been organized by Abby’s sister-in-law Amber Savallo who had T-shirts designed and held a previous candlelight service for Abby. Amber said, “Thank you to everyone who took the time out of their day to come bare the weather with us. It was wet and cold but you all were troopers! Thank you for showing up for Abby! Thank you to Empire Droneworx for such an amazing job! For donating your services, equipment and time to fly, take pics and edit. Thank you Bro. Donnie Herring for freezing with us and praying for our sweet girl. Thank you to Grand Saline Sun for always doing such a great job. For covering Abby’s story and coming out and taking pics! Thank you so much to Erik and Marcie Beth Hicks for all you guys have done. I’d be here all day listing everything y’all have done, but here’s a few. Thank you for managing the T-shirts! That was SUCH a huge job to take on and y’all ROCKED IT! Thank you for allowing us to use your place for the event. Thanks for the hot chocolate, the fire, the generator and honestly, every single thing y’all have done for Abby and our family during this time. It is truly appreciated.
The hard part is over. But please continue to pray for Abby. She is on the road to recovery, but the road will be long. And that’s perfectly fine. I know she will do BIG THINGS. She’s rocked this whole adventure. She’s so strong. And I can’t wait for this to be history in her testimony!
