Grand Saline’s 3rd Annual Main Street Festival Planned for Saturday, April 10

GRAND SALINE--The Grand Saline Main Street organization is presenting its 3rd Annual Main Street Festival on Saturday, April 10 in Historic Downtown Grand Saline. Volunteers are busy planning an exciting day for festival attendees beginning at 10 am. Kids activities as well as many other adult activities are on the schedule for a fun afternoon’s entertainment.
Everyone is excited about the Jalapeno Pepper Eating Contest pitting the Grand Saline Police Department against Van Zandt County Sheriff Department. This will be an annual event to establish bragging rights for the winner. Festival attendees can enter the challenging Saltine Cracker Eating Contest. It is reputed to be difficult to eat a few crackers in a short amount of time. This will be fun to watch.
Live music will begin at 10 am on the Main Stage and will continue all day until 6 pm. CJ Daniels starts the day off with his concert at 10 am. At 12:00 Ryan Lingle entertains the crowd with his music. Local musician Ryan Savallo and his Band follows in the afternoon at 2:00. Billie Jo & Band wraps up the day with her concert beginning at 4:30. Make plans now to attend this free, musical entertainment on the Main Stage.
Ralph Carroll’s Camp Gladiator is hosting a 5K run beginning at 9 am. Meet at the Salt Palace for the start of this race. Proceeds benefit “Theygotyour6.org”. T-shirts will be available at the registration table for $5 each.
Adults can enjoy participating in the cornhole tournament, bingo, remote control car races and a 50/50 raffle. The Salt Shakers Car Club will present their “Cruise-In” show lined up on Main Street. Carter Blood Drive sponsored by Azalea Trails Nursing Home will be available beginning at 9 am. Kettle Corn will be free all day and other food vendors will have a variety of foods for purchase for your lunch. A selection of plants for sale will be offered by J. Berry Nursery, our famous local nurseryman. This is always a popular vendor. There will be a variety of other vendors for your shopping pleasure.
